Community Article: Why Buy VIP? (And Not Let it Expire 🫢)

VIP Membership in a Nutshell

For those of you who know me, you may know a while back I hit my half-birthday in Pixels, and after 6 months of having VIP, I let it EXPIRE.😱 It’s one of those things you tend to take for granted when you’re used to it, and while you may think it’s all about the extra energy, let’s be very clear that there is a LOT more to it than that!

I got pretty comfy with all my red-carpet add-ons, and easily forgot just how many perks there are to holding VIP in-game (and out of it) - Just a few days of being back in good ole free-to-play and I was stubbing my toes left and right on just how much I lost!

I could talk all day about the different things that make the gap between F2P and VIP so wide, but you probably don’t want to hear my yap about it so here you go - A fancy infographic with all the reasons why you definitely need VIP.⬇️

While energy is certainly a huge part of why this membership has so much value, the reality is that your quality of gameplay is significantly elevated by everything else that comes with it. With fewer industries and 5000 lands to explore, your bookmarks and inventory are super helpful expansions in daily gameplay (especially if you don’t have a pet with strength to be your pack mule) - and with all that extra stuff, you’re going to have a heck of a time selling it all when you only have 5 listings on the marketplace. Having 10 is a MUST, especially if you are a UGC creator!

Speaking of UGC Creators in particular (which there are more and more of every day✨🎨), the extra 1500 reputation you get from being VIP alone is a no brainer. While it doesn’t automatically mean you can trade unlimited, you play for a few months and see how much rep you accumulate naturally without it. With just over 3000 rep, you can trade unlimited! Which means no more pesky equivalent value requirements in trades AND you can host giveaways, sell items for $PIXEL to deliver in game and more! (Not to mention the potential early access to other ecosystem games like Pixel Dungeons!)

Now all of that is nice, but some of the biggest perks, right now especially, are the 3 extra “VIP” tasks on the task board, and bulk crafting. With the taskboard rewards getting “smarter” and more widely distributing $PIXEL, more players have an opportunity to earn, and having 3 extra tasks to cycle each day helps you get a lot more done! Not every day will be “paldo” but take a look - more than half of my $PIXEL tasks from just one day came from having VIP!

And finally, bulk crafting may be the biggest perk with Merchant Ships on the horizon! (Especially with more rare industries like Wineries, when it’s hard to find one public one in the first place AND not to mention, the recent introduction of Quicksilver!) You can bulk craft as F2P in a few tier 1 recipe books, but if you want to get anywhere with T2+, the bulk crafting was probably the biggest inconvenience of my VIP expiring.

In all, you get so much more than energy from VIP! If you don’t have it, you now know what you’re missing.

Okay, Silverwing - Where Do I Get VIP?

I’m glad you asked.

If you’re buying outright - You’ll need $PIXEL in your account first!

1. Get $PIXEL direct on Binance or Swap from your favorite exchange
2. Transfer $PIXEL into your Ronin Walletyou use for Pixels
3. Deposit $PIXEL into your Pixels Account by selecting the PIXEL asset here

From there, you want to log into Pixels and mosey on over to the cute lil VIP Booth southwest of the Terra Villa fountain.

VIP price in $PIXEL changes based on the USD value of the token, and can be purchased in 3, 6, and 12 Month memberships.

• 3 Month = ~$30-35 USD
• 6 Month = ~$60-65 USD
• 12 Month = ~$100 USD

With a Creator Code (Mine is “SILVERWING”), you can buy these with a 5% off discount, making the best purchase value the 12-month with a code discount for ~$95 USD. However, I started out with a 3-month and think it’s a great tier for new players to try it out!

Here’s a tip though, you don’t have to just BUY it!

VIP can be acquired a couple different ways! The first is what we already discussed: to just purchase it outright. There are other ways to get it though:

1. Win VIP in an event » The Pixels team periodically gives out small VIP coupons worth anywhere from 1-day to a year!
2. Most VIP is tradable through the Pixels Marketplace (in the back of Buck’s Galore) » If you don’t have the $PIXEL, you might have the coin.
3. Become an NFT Landowner » All Pixels Farmland NFT holders automatically receive VIP as long as they hold a land in their game wallet. Land is available for purchase on:Mavis MarketplaceOpensea
4. Become a Pixels Content Creator» Another great (and fun) way to earn your VIP is by becoming an official content creator for Pixels.
